Hutch's grandma was taken to the hospital by ambulance this evening. They believe she has suffered a stroke. She is in surgery with a 50% chance of survival. Her conditions, if she does survive, are questionable at this point. Hutch's grandpa, who is the happiest, most jovial man around, is having a difficult time as you can imagine.

Hutch's grandma has told him before that she has a connection to our girls. He is at the hospital right now with his family. I want to be there too...I do not want her to die, and I do not want to her die before I have the chance to talk to her. I know that sounds very selfish, but I need to tell her to take care of my girls, to find them and be with them until I can be there myself. I don't know how it all works up there, but this is the best case I can think of for now.

Update: She has made it through surgery and her chances of survival have increased since she did make it through. Hopefully I will not feel as if I have to tell her my thoughts above. I know her husband and the rest of the family are not ready to let go of her, and neither am I.

  3. I understand your thoughts! Before I tell you why, you need to understand my husband's family. His mother and father divorced when he was young. She remarried when he was 13 yrs old. Six months later she passed away. His biological father then passed away a few years later. His stepfather then later remarried so she is like I guess his Step-step mother (?). So, after Colin and Courtney died my husband's step-step mother came to us and said..."I saw Marilyn and she said don't worry I have the babies". That still to this day comforts me so much. I never asked her if it was in a dream or what because it didn't really matter to me. I love knowing that my MIL was waiting there for them :)

So, I am glad that his Grandma is doing well. I am sure when it is her time that she will scoop up Ellie and Sophia in her arms and hold them until you can :)

  11. I'm glad she is doing better. I hope everything turns out fine.
It was so weird to read your post, though. My mom called me to tell me that my grandmother's SIL was going to be home on hospice after a battle with pancreatic cancer. I have not spent a great deal of time with this great aunt of mine but throughout my life I have had several visits with her and have many memories of her and her family. I felt compelled to write her though and send a card before she passed. I sent her a note with many memories in there and thanked her for the card she sent went Chase passed away. I sent her a picture and told her that if she saw Chase before I did to give him a big love from me and tell him I'd see him soon. Part of me thought it was kinda crazy to do that and I never heard from anyone that they got the card. She passed away two days ago, though, and I hope she found my sweet boy. I would have loved for her to meet him on earth, but that didnt happen. After reading your post, though, I don't feel so crazy about what I did. Thanks for sharing and sending you hugs.

  13. I remember when my sister's mother in law passed away (this was just a couple months after we lost Akul), SUnil bought amongst other flowers, a white rose for her funeral services. As I kept the single blossoming bud on her, I silently begged her to give this to Akul. It is just what a mother does.

  16. Wishing the best for grandma. And I don't think you're crazy for wanting to talk to her. My Grandmother died the day Bridgitte's heart stopped beating, and I have always hoped they waited for each other and that they were together. I didn't find out about my Grandma until weeks later, and I found out a few months later that St. Brigid is sometimes called the Mary of Ireland. My grandma's name is Mary...
I hope your GIL has a good week, the first week is the most important indicator of the recoverythat will continue after a stroke, and the first 6 mo.s are the most important.
    You're in my thoughts (())
